Our title, “Utilizing Power Pivot & Power Query to Unlock the Power of Syspro”, sounds corny as hell, but this is the kind of stuff that we got from the conference in Dallas. Just today ORG was implementing such bridges for several clients – boosting their reporting functions in just a few hours.

Power Query and Power Pivot complement each other. Power Query is perfect for discovering, connecting to, and importing data. The end result is that an Excel data connection still gets created, but Power Query makes it much easier while giving you a lot more functionality. Power Pivot models the data you’ve imported. When you put your data in the Excel Data Model, you can continue enhancing it for analytics with Power Pivot. Power Query allows the robust reporting models to be easily formatted for online services. It brings the result into Excel as a single table for further analysis and modeling in Power Pivot.

SYSPRO Office Integration uses secure web services to communicate between Office and SYSPRO’s database, which means that you can work with an Office product at home using an Internet connection and still have access to the SYSPRO data.
